WAIVER

Paint Correction Liability Waiver

PAINT CORRECTION LIABILITY WAIVER Last Updated: March 16, 2026 1. Paint Correction Overview. Paint correction is a process that uses professional machine polishing to remove or reduce surface imperfections in automotive paint. This process may reduce the appearance of: Light to moderate scratches, Swirl marks, Oxidation, Water spots, Holograms and surface defects, The goal of paint correction is to improve clarity, gloss, and depth in the vehicle’s paint. 2. Limitations of Paint Correction. Not all paint defects can be safely removed. Some damage may be too deep within the paint structure. These defects may include: Deep scratches, Rock chips, Etching, Severe oxidation, Clear coat failure, Previous repaint damage. In these situations, defects may be reduced but not completely eliminated. 3. Clear Coat Thickness. Modern automotive paint systems include a clear coat layer that protects the color beneath it. Paint correction works by carefully leveling microscopic layers of this clear coat. Excessive polishing can permanently damage paint, so The Detail Method prioritizes paint safety over complete defect removal. For this reason, some scratches or imperfections may remain after correction. 4. Repainted or Repaired Panels. Vehicles that have been repainted or repaired may have inconsistent paint thickness or improper curing. Polishing these surfaces carries additional risk. The Detail Method will take every precaution but cannot be held responsible for issues resulting from previous bodywork or repainting. 5. Customer Acknowledgement. By booking a paint correction service, the customer acknowledges that: Some defects may remain after correction, Paint correction involves permanent alteration of the clear coat, Complete defect removal is not always possible or safe. The Detail Method will prioritize the long-term health of the vehicle’s paint 6. Final Results. Paint correction results depend heavily on the vehicle’s current paint condition. While significant improvement is often achievable, results cannot be guaranteed to be perfect. The Detail Method will always provide professional workmanship and honest communication regarding expected results.
